Alexis Sanchez is a doubt for the Chelsea clash (Picture: Getty)
Manchester United winger Alexis Sanchez is a doubt for the Red Devils’ FA Cup clash with Chelsea after a freak incident during the club’s 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Chilean came off the substitutes’ bench to replace Jesse Lingard seconds before half-time after the England international injured his groin.
United were already preparing to take off Anthony Martial and had sent Sanchez out to warm-up in anticipation of replacing the Frenchman.
However, Sanchez was soon embroiled in a freak accident when he collided with the linesman on the side of the pitch.
The Chilean was not looking where he was going and was floored by the incident, according to the Daily Mail.

Sanchez told United’s coaches at half-time that he had injured his leg in the incident and they made the decision to allow him to warm-up during the interval out on the pitch, instead of being part of the team-talk.

Sanchez managed to make it through the remainder of the game but was roundly criticised by United supporters, whose faith in the winger is waning rapidly.
