Arsenal have been charged by the FA for their inability to prevent a fan from invading the pitch at the Emirates during last Sunday's 2-0 win over Manchester United.

"It is alleged the club failed to ensure that its spectator[s] conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and refrained from encroaching onto the pitch during the Premier League fixture against Manchester United on Sunday [10/03/2019].

With that win, Unai Emery's side leapfrogged ?United into fourth place in the ?Premier League with just eight games left to be played.

A statement read: "Arsenal FC has been charged with breaches of FA Rule E20(a)and (b).

The incident came after a far more serious instance of fan pitch invasion had occurred at St Andrews during Birmingham City's derby clash with Aston Villa, where Villa playmaker Jack Grealish was punched from behind by said invader.

And, as revealed by the official spokesperson for the FA on ?Twitter, the club have now been charged with two breaches of regulations.

It was in the aftermath of this goal that the fan in question evaded security to run onto the pitch in an attempt to celebrate with the ?Arsenal players.
