According to ESPN, Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have entered the race for key Manchester United target Jadon Sancho.

United have been consistently linked to the 20-year-old wonderkid, who has been making waves across Europe. Sancho has proven that his last season’s success was no flash in the pan.

The flying winger has scored 17 goals and has provided 19 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions this season. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Sancho has been brilliant for Borussia Dortmund

According to a report by the Express, United believe they have convinced Sancho to swap Germany for the Premier League .

Not only has he been offered a lucrative deal but also the legendary no.7 shirt. Previously worn by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Eric Cantona, the youngster has been afforded no small honour.

Bayern have in recent years signed some of Dortmund’s biggest names. With Manchester City playing hardball over Leroy Sane, the Bavarians could turn their attention to Sancho.

Solskjaer has already added Fernandes in January

One advantage United have is Dortmund’s reluctance to sell to their direct rivals. Having lost the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and Mats Hummels, Dortmund will want to buck the trend this time around.

United will, however, have to pay a king’s ransom to sign the player. Dortmund expect at least £107million for Sancho. Such an amount will comfortably shatter the record fee we paid for Paul Pogba in 2016.

He will, however, add both goals and creativity to an attack that has at times been too one dimensional. January signing Bruno Fernandes has changed that to an extent. The addition of Sancho, however, could prove to be the gamechanger.

Just 20, Sancho is already one of the biggest names in European football. Signing him will be nothing short of a statement of intent by United.
