Manchester United academy graduate Joshua Bohui insists the club were right to sack Jose Mourinho.

Bohui, who joined Dutch club NAC Breda last summer after failing to make a first-team appearance at Old Trafford, believes United youngsters were not given a chance under Mourinho.

Tottenham are eighth in the Premier League table and seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

In contrast to Mourinho, his successor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has given Premier League debuts to academy graduates Mason Greenwood, Tahith Chong and Brandon Williams.

Bohui, who rejected two contract offers to stay at United after joining from Brentford in 2016, feels the Red Devils were left with no option but to part ways with Mourinho.

He added: “It was better for the whole club – United have a style of play which he was not bringing, so he had to be replaced.” Mourinho returned to management when he replaced Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham last November.

The Portuguese coach was given his marching orders in December 2018 with the Red Devils 11 points off a Champions League spot.
