Jose Mourinho says Tottenham were "punished" for taking their foot off the gas in their match with West Ham which saw them surrender a 3-0 lead.

The game looked out of sight at half-time after Son Heung-min's first-minute opener was followed up by a Harry Kane brace to put Spurs well in command.

But they failed to add to their tally in the second half and West Ham never gave up.

And what was important was the result, as just as Spurs looked to be heading for three points, Lanzini came up with a piece of magic to find the top corner from 30 yards and rescue a marvellous point for West Ham.

Speaking after the match, Mourinho told beIN Sports: "They deserve the credit, but for us it's a 3-0 defeat in the second half.

"We had a 4-0 [chance] by Harry Kane hitting the post, a 4-2 with Gareth [Bale].

West Ham barely had time to breathe when they went 3-0 down after just 16 minutes, with Kane leaping to head home Sergio Reguilon's cross.
