Manchester United are searching for a new permanent manager to replace Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

And on Saturday night, a report claimed United have added England manager Gareth Southgate to their managerial shortlist.

"Also, I think Manchester United may have one or two options before they got to Gareth who I think they would want to nail down first."

However, former England and Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher doesn't think he is an option for United at this time.

I wouldn't expect Gareth to leave that post just yet.

"I think that Gareth Southgate has done such a good job with England to leave now wouldn't feel right.

According to the report, the Three Lions boss has been outlined as a potential option for United after taking England to a World Cup semi-final in the summer.
