Manchester United coach Mark Dempsey is 'in a stable condition' having been rushed to hospital in Perth.

United are currently on a pre-season tour of Australia and are due to play Perth Glory on Saturday.

Australian news channel 9 News reported that a male in his 50s was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital from the Crown Towers hotel, where the United squad are based.



He was seen arriving at the hospital under heavy security around 3pm local time on Friday, with his face hidden behind a sheet as he was wheeled in, as seen in the footage by 7 News.Further reports in Australia then emerged claiming that the male is now stable, although Royal Perth Hospital are yet to officially confirm his condition.

'He's still in hospital but maybe he'll be released in the morning.

An earlier United statement read: 'A member of our backroom staff was taken ill overnight and has been sent to hospital by our club doctor for further treatment.

United will take on local side Perth Glory at the Optus Stadium in a friendly on Saturday and then face Leeds, before the tour continues on to Singapore and China.
