Manchester United are reportedly making contingency plans in the event their move for Leicester centre back Harry Maguire falls through.

Talks are ongoing between the clubs with Leicester's £85million valuation the obvious hurdle as United look to strike a compromise closer to £75m.In the event a deal does not materialise United have identified Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile, according to L'Equipe.

French newspaper L'Equipe also report that United have been monitoring the 18-year-old, who has progressed through Monaco's academy, for a couple of years.

A move for the France Under-19 international would certainly be in-keeping with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's policy of recruiting youth this summer.

United have already snapped up Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, both 21, and could now turn to the teenage defender, who will likely cost around £30m.Badiashile broke into the Monaco first team last season and made 26 appearances in all competitions.

The French outlet also claim that United could face competition from Valencia or Premier League rivals Wolves for the player's signature.
