Manchester United Football Club have been uncharacteristically inconsistent under Jose Mourinho this term; albeit the Red Devils did secure a big victory at Old Trafford today.

That hasn’t stopped reports surrounding the self-proclaimed Special One’s future at the Theatre of Dreams, with The Sun, per The Week claiming that United are ‘desperate’ to appoint the Argentine as Mourinho’s successor.

Apparently, United are willing to fork out £40million in compensation to lure the 46-year-old to United, despite the fact that he only signed a five-year contract at Tottenham Hotspur quite recently.

Personally, I feel as though this club needs to be taken in a different direction. We’ve tried the defence-first, cautious approach with our last three managers, why not go offensive and give a young, ambitious manager their chance?

Pochettino would have a massive budget at his disposal, he’d be given time to build his legacy, and it’d give him a real opportunity to start lining his trophy cabinet with major honours.

My only real concern is the fact that he may not necessarily want to leave White Hart Lane. Spurs are on the up, they’re currently in front of us in the table, and looking far better than United in the process. It’d certainly take a hefty weekly wage to convince him to make the move North…
