Manchester United's FA Cup progress was marred by an injury to Marcus Rashford ahead of Sunday's trip to Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Rashford, United's top scorer this season with 19 goals, suffered a back injury in a coming together with Wolves defender Matt Doherty in the 79 minute.

It was a first win for Solskajer over Wolves in five attempts, and keeps 12-time winners United on course for a record-equalling 13 FA Cup win.

Solskjaer can ill-afford to be without star man Rashford for United's trip to their arch rivals, with the 22-year-old enjoying the best season of his career.

But the win was marred by an injury to substitute Rashford, who was only on the pitch for 15 minutes before having to be replaced himself.

Juan Mata's 67 minute goal saw Ole Gunnar Solskajer's side through at the expense of Wolves and into a fourth round tie against Tranmere or Watford.

England striker Rashford, who has suffered with a back complaint in recent weeks, now faces an anxious wait to see if he is fit for the trip to Anfield.
