MANCHESTER UNITED 3-1 FULHAM

68: Claudio Ranieri must have a dark sense of humour because just two minutes after grabbing a goal - Andrw-Frank Zambo Anguissa has been sent off for a second yellow card. Silly foul on Marcus Rashford.

MANCHESTER UNITED 3-1 FULHAM | KAMARA

65: Aboubakar Kamara steps up… goal! AK47 grabs his second goal in two games to give Fulham a lifeline.

PENALTY TO FULHAM

64: Now… surely they couldn’t produce a stunning comeback from here?!

Ander Herrera brings down Aboubakar Kamara inside the penalty area and Lee Probert points towards the sport.

MANCHESTER UNITED 3-0 FULHAM

62: Should be 4-0. Romelu Lukaku picks out the run of Ander Herrera, who can only drag his effort wide.

59: Cruel for FPL players as Marcos Rojo replaces Chris Smalling before the 60-minute mark. The centre-back limps on and does well to block Sessegnon before Schurrle fires over.

57: Absolutely nothing to report. We’re down to walking pace with over 30 minutes left to play! I do, however, see Marcos Rojo warming up on the sidelines.

54: It’s pretty early to consider changes but with a busy Christmas schedule - Jose Mourinho will want to rest a few of his top players. Fulham look like they are playing for damage limitations - Claudio Ranieri would probably take a 3-0 from here.

51: Is Diogo Dalot going to nail down this right-back position? He’s been excellent this afternoon and just needs to start getting that final ball right. Another low cross from the Portuguese whistles through the penalty area but Romelu Lukaku fires at Sergio Rico.

48: Fulham may have made a change but the pattern of play is exactly the same as Marcus Rashford waltzes through on goal. Sergio Rico parries away Rashford's shot and then Romelu Lukaku's shot is deflected wide.

MANCHESTER UNITED 3-0 FULHAM

45: And we’re back underway. What do you think Claudio, shall we call it 3-0 and get an early night?

Claudio Ranieri has taken Aleksandr Mitrovic off at half-time as part of a double substitution. Tom Cairney also made way as Luciano Vietto and Aboubakar Kamara come on.

Incidentally, Romelu Lukaku has scored his first competitive goal for Man Utd at Old Trafford since March vs Swansea, ending a run of 997 minutes in all competitions without netting.

MANCHESTER UNITED 3-0 FULHAM

HT: Wow. United have blown Fulham away in the opening 45 minutes here at Old Trafford. Ashley Young, Juan Mata and Romelu Lukaku are on the scoresheet for the host, who are loving a rainy day in Manchester.

44: Lukaku wants a fourth before the break but his drilled effort falls nicely for Rico.

MANCHESTER UNITED 3-0 FULHAM | LUKAKU

41: Fulham really are atrocious at the back. They have now conceded 39 goals in 16 Premier League matches. Incredible.

Romelu Lukaku bags United’s third and even manages to get Jose Mourinho to smile! I think that’s because a training-ground routine has been executed nicely.

The corner is played short for Juan Mata to prod it over to Jesse Lingard who returns the pass and the Spaniard rolls the ball across the six-yard box for Lukaku to finish.

40: Well you can’t accuse Marcus Rashford of lacking confidence. The young England star has just thrashed a free-kick from miles away and stung the palms of Sergio Rico.

37:Juan Mata has scored his 50th Premier League goal, becoming the fifth Spaniard to reach this milestone in the competition (also Fernando Torres, David Silva, Diego Costa and Cesc Fàbregas).

35: Victory would see Manchester United rise to sixth, three points above Everton, who are still to play. Still 16 points behind Liverpool though…

32: Frustration setting in for the visitors with Anguissa dragging down Lingard deep in Manchester United territory. Booked.

MANCHESTER UNITED 2-0 FULHAM | MATA

29: Am I seeing this right? Manchester United have scored twice in the opening 30 minutes?!

Fulham are all over the place at the back. Romelu Lukaku lays it over to Marcus Rashford, whose first-time cross finds an unmarked Mata to blaze past Rico.

28: So Fulham are left with no choice - they are throwing caution to the wind and going for it early. That’s playing to United’s strengths with Rashford and Lingard only too happy to find the space.

25: Nuts! Mitrovic nutmegs Lingard and shifts the ball away for a long-ranger that David de Gea easily collects.

Romelu Lukaku then manages to keep a hopeful long ball in play and cut it back for Young to fire wide. You can’t keep the wing back out of the headlines today!

24: Young has ended a run of 39 games in all competitions without a goal for Manchester United, since netting twice versus Watford in November 2017 – 375 days ago.

22: Ashley Young has a taste for goals now as he cuts in again from the left, but this time Alfie Mawson heads it out for a corner.

19: Claudio Ranieri MUST sort this Fulham defence out sharpish. That’s the 37th goal of the season they’ve conceded this campaign. That really is outrageous.

17: It’s Ashley Young’s first goal in over two years! Worth waiting for. Check it out on MOTD tonight.

MANCHESTER UNITED 1-0 FULHAM | YOUNG

14: Breakthrough! Jose Mourinho wanted his side to start fast - and they have delivered!

It’s a splendid goal from makeshift wing-back Ashley Young, who cuts inside from the left and unleashes an unstoppable strike into the corner.

Marcus Rashford with the assist for those desperate to check your fantasy football squads!

13: Fulham win their first corner of the afternoon and the decibel level from the visiting fans rises. Sessegnon looks for Mitrovic at the far post but he can’t connect and the ball trickles out the other side of the pitch for a throw-in.

10: Two dangerous balls whipped in by Dalot, the first was headed clear by Odoi and the second forced a catch from Rico. Looks a tidy player from what I’ve seen.

8: Marcus Rashford is looking bright in these early stages. He twists and turns inside the penalty area but Tim Ream ushered him out of play.

5: A low murmur of groans as Romelu Lukaku is flagged offside. Not the most buoyant atmosphere inside Old Trafford as the rain pours down.

3: The Red Devils are on the front-foot in the early stages. Lots of pace in that United attack this afternoon - Jose Mourinho will hope Romelu Lukaku can help to link things up in attack.

MANCHESTER UNITED 0-0 FULHAM

1: OK, are y’all ready for another rollercoaster ride at Old Trafford? I can’t tell whether or not I’m being sarcastic. Anyway, we’re underway!

Don’t worry - I’ll keep you updated with all the Premier league goals from around the grounds.

Mendes backing…

15:53: Why? I have no idea what's happening these days.

Jose Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes insists his client is "fully committed" to Manchester United and has no intention of leaving Old Trafford any time soon.

Mourinho is the bookmakers' favourite to be the next top-flight manager to leave their post and woke up to a report on Friday that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has been targeted to replace him next summer.

That story may be behind agent Mendes' surprise - and rare - statement clarifying his client's status.

"There have been more rumours of Jose Mourinho leaving Manchester United," Mendes said. ”It's totally untrue.

"Jose is very happy at the club and the club is very happy with him. He has a long-term contract with Manchester United and is fully committed to the club in building a solid winning project."

Twitter round-up

Andy: Another reminder that Jose Mourinho has spent more than any other manager in the history of football and that Manchester United have the highest wage bill in the Premier League.

Dan: Jose Mourinho has benched every under-performing player this season except Nemanja Matic. What’s wrong with him?!

Joe: Fred, Jose Mourinho’s most recent big money signing, is on the bench once again for Manchester United. He’s really making the case for Ed Woodward to trust him with a few more hundred million in January, isn’t he?

Hector: Jose Mourinho is such a child. He has clearly had another argument with Pogba, but isn’t even trying to hide it. Despite Pogba’s flaws, he is the only United midfielder with any creativity. How Matic’s selection is justified week in week out is beyond me.

Jose vs Fulham

14:50: The Jose Mourinho roadshow has rumbled on this week, with Manchester United's beleaguered boss mixing praise for his side's spirit with a candid admission that they can't simply expect to see off Fulham at home.

For Mourinho, however, despite undeniably positive elements in his side's midweek draw against Arsenal, anything but an impressive three points against the struggling Londoners would surely send his position further towards untenable territory.

Ouch!

14:48: Fulham have lost 21 of their last 23 away matches against Manchester United in all comps (W1 D1) – their only win in this run was a 3-1 victory in the Premier League in October 2003.

Team news

14:45: Paul Pogba starts on the bench as Jose Mourinho recalls Romelu Lukaku to the starting line-up for Manchester United's match with Bournemouth.

The United boss made four changes from Wednesday's 2-2 draw against Arsenal, with Lukaku joined in the starting line-up by Phil Jones, Juan Mata and Ashley Young.

Ryan Sessegnon made his 100th appearance for a Fulham side to which Claudio Ranieri made five alterations.

MANCHESTER UNITED vs FULHAM

Anthony Martial, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are among the players that could be absent for Manchester United against Fulham. The trio will be assessed on Friday, as will centre-back Eric Bailly. Luke Shaw is hoping to return after missing that match with a knock and Ashley Young is back from suspension. Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku will be hoping to return to the starting line-up after being dropped to the bench against the Gunners, but Victor Lindelof (groin) and Alexis Sanchez (hamstring) are out.

Fulham expect to have Kevin McDonald and Floyd Ayite available. McDonald and Ayite have made good progress in their attempts to recover from respective hamstring and groin injuries. Manager Claudio Ranieri is expected to make few changes to the team that showed signs of improvement in Wednesday's 1-1 draw at home to Leicester.
