United turn attentions to Europa League

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer welcomed his Manchester United players back to Carrington to begin training ahead of the resumption of the Europa League campaign.

United players were given five days off following their final day Premier League win at Leicester and host LASK Linz in the round-of-16 second leg on Wednesday.

"We'll give some time off, they need mental and physical time away from the place, because the effort has been fantastic, so recharge batteries for a few days and then go again," Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said last week.

"We've got LASK and a 5-0 lead, so we don't have to go in that game chasing a two or three-goal win. We just want a good performance and hopefully that will be enough to get into the quarters.

"But a few days off, definitely." Victor Lindelof, Fred, Scott McTominay, Odion Ighalo, and Nemanja Matic were among the United players who travelled abroad.

Inter Milan's accounts have revealed slightly different transfer fees paid to United for Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Young.

Lukaku joined Inter last summer for a fee believed to be £73.9m, however Inter's accounts show the Italian side in fact paid €74.162 - around £66.75m.

United were holding out for £80m for Lukaku as they were reluctant to take a hit on the £75m they paid Everton for him in 2017. However, Lukaku's disruptive behaviour towards the end of his time at the club effectively forced United's hand and Inter capitalised with their second bid.

Ashley Young left United for Inter in January and cost precisely €1.729m (£1.55m). United communicated at the time they had received €1.5m, plus some add-ons.
