Manchester United must be careful of angering Paul Pogba into forcing his way out of the club by triggering the one-year extension clause in his contract, according to report.

The England international has been heavily linked with Solskjaer’s side in recent months.

Pogba’s injury problems began this term with a foot injury and after seemingly recovering, the player suffered a separate foot issue in December and has been out since.

Pogba has been heavily linked with a move back to Juve and to Real Madrid in recent months but United could look to extend his contract by a further year until the summer of 2022.

The source says that the Red Devils should instead look to sign another contract with Pogba this summer by mutual agreement so that the midfielder does not enter into the final year of his contract.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is said to hold his compatriot in high esteem and the player is reportedly high up on the manager’s wish list.

Pogba moved to Old Trafford from Juventus on a five-year deal in 2016 and the Frenchman has become a divisive figure in his second spell at Old Trafford.
