Real Madrid are set to make another move for Paul Pogba in January - but Manchester United won't lower their £179million price tag.

Latest reports from Spain claim Zinedine Zidane is determined to go back for his top target Pogba in the new year, with pressure already growing on the Real Madrid boss.

Madrid are fifth in the embryonic La Liga table after just one victory from their opening three La Liga games, having won away to Celta Vigo in between draws against Real Valladolid and Villarreal.

Pogba's current United deal runs until 2021, but United want to keep him at the club and potentially extend his deal in order to warn off his suitors, which also included his former club Juventus in the summer.

Pogba said in the summer that a move to Real would be "a dream", although he knuckled down in pre-season as a move failed to materialise.

They begin their Champions League campaign against PSG in Paris next Wednesday as France legend Zidane looks to return Real to their glory days both domestically and in Europe.

Real president Florentino Perez recently insisted the club's squad was strong enough, telling Spanish outlet Marca : "We have never invested so much in players even though we already had a great squad."
