Manchester United players took time out to spread some Christmas cheer with fans on Friday.

Jose Mourinho and his side attended the Manchester United Foundation Dream Day to meet fans with life-limiting illnesses and their families ahead of the festive season at their Aon Training Complex.

"The game is not going to be 11 against 0, it’s going to be 11 against 11, good players in the other side.

Supporters travelled from around the country to attend the heart-warming event, which the club hosts twice a year, and watch first team training as well as meeting their heroes.

"It’s close to Christmas so it’s nice to give them an early present and to see the kids smiling at what is a tough time for them, and if we can do anything to cheer them up then that’s what we want to do.” David De Gea gave a special gift to nine-year-old Hugh, in the form of his own signed goalkeeper gloves.

The foundation welcomed 14 guests and their families for the special day - and long-standing United favourite Ashley Young was delighted to give something back to their fans.

"One of the two most important managers in the history of the Premier League, in my opinion, so they have the potential to come here tomorrow and to give us a very difficult match.”
