Donny van de Beek - Manchester United have signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax on a five-year deal for a fee rising to £39m (September 2)

Gareth Bale - Manchester United may turn to Bale should they be unsuccessful in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho, and the likelihood of the 31-year-old returning to play in England is now looking much more realistic. Bale's advisors are also talking to Tottenham. (Sky Sports, September 15).

Jadon Sancho - Borussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre expects Sancho to increase his value by improving his game this season before Manchester United return to the market for the England forward (Daily Telegraph, September 15); United are ready to walk away from a summer deal for the Borussia Dortmund forward and have made enquiries over alternative forwards such as Gareth Bale, Douglas Costa and Ivan Perisic (Telegraph, September 14); United are considering pulling out of talks to sign the forward after growing increasingly frustrated with Dortmund (Express, September 12); United have made a breakthrough in their attempt to sign Sancho, with agent fees and personal terms no longer a problem (Sky Sports, September 10); Sancho remains United's number-one target to sign this summer (Sky Sports, September 8).
