Ole Gunnar Solskjaer disagrees with Gary Neville that Champions League elimination would improve a team's prospects of a higher Premier League finish.

Liverpool steamrollered Bayern Munich 3-1 in midweek to progress through to the Champions League quarter-finals and received a favourable draw against Porto, with a potential semi-final to come against United or Barcelona.

Neville has repeatedly suggested Liverpool should accept elimination from Europe in order to concentrate on clinching a first league title since 1990.

"So I don’t agree with Gary Neville when he says that teams should go out of this and this to focus on that."

United are fifth and three points off third-placed Tottenham in the league as they attempt to secure a top four finish to ensure Champions League qualification for next term.

And the mood is good, the training attitude is good, so hopefully we can keep that run going."

"Momentum, the more games you win, the more confidence you breed, the more hunger there is in the players," Solskjaer said.
