Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Manchester United talisman Marcus Rashford can become as prolific as Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Rashford has already collected FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League winner's medals but has struggled to convince as a number nine.

Rashford ousted Romelu Lukaku from the United Xi before Solskjaer was appointed caretaker manager and was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for December, having also performed under Jose Mourinho.

Rashford, 21, has scored three in four starts for United under Solskjaer, having managed just four goals in the previous four months of the campaign.

Lukaku replaced Rashford for the FA Cup third round win over Reading last week but Rashford is expected to line up at Wembley.

"He can become a top, top striker," Solskjaer said of Rashford.

The most goals Rashford has scored in a club season were the 13 he tallied last term but Solskjaer believes he can hit the heights of Kane, who will line up against United on Sunday.
