Teenage goalkeeper Matej Kovar has signed a new contract with Manchester United after impressing for the club's Under-23 side this season.

United are not short of goalkeepers, with David de Gea still the number one at the club, backed up by Sergio Romero and third choice Lee Grant.

Dean Henderson is on loan at Sheffield United, Kieran O'Hara has been loaned out to Burton Albion and Joel Castro Pereira is on a short-term deal with Hearts.

Alex Fojticek, another 19-year-old imported goalkeeper, also signed a new deal in the summer and has joined Stalybridge Celtic on loan.

'Both Matej and Alex deserve these contracts; they've come from the Czech Republic and Slovakia and settled really well in Manchester,' said Nick Cox, the head of Manchester United's academy.
