Four members of Manchester United’s Under-23 squad are likely to be sent out on loan ahead of next season for them to gain first team experience away from Old Trafford.

While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has championed bringing through young talents as Manchester United manager, there is only so much space in the match day squad, and some will have to look elsewhere for game time.

Midfielders James Garner and Dylan Levitt are set for short-term deals, as are goalkeeper Matej Kovar and full-back Ethan Laird, reports

The four prospects are highly unlikely to appear in the first team at all, never mind on a regular basis, and the United hierarchy feel they are better served heading out on loan.

Of the four, Garner may well be the most sought-after, having started in the Europa League this season, against Partizan Belgrade, and making a Premier Legague appearance against Norwich City.

The 19-year-old is likely to be snapped up by a Championship side, with Swansea City and Sheffield Wednesday reportedly interested.

His nine goals in 12 Under-23 games from midfield will have caught the eye of scouts, without having to see him in the Manchester United first team.

Levitt and Laird have also appeared in the Europa League with the first team, but goalkeeper Kovar is yet to and has a long queue ahead of him, with David De Gea, Sergio Romero and the returning Dean Henderson pulling rank on him.
