Manchester United are reportedly prioritising their transfer business on two players during the final four weeks of the summer transfer window.

According to The Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are keen on pursuing the signature of defender Maguire from Leicester City despite failing with an opening bid worth £70m.

The Red Devils have already landed the services of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer and they are now said to give importance to strengthening the central defensive department.

Aside from Lindelof, United have four other central defensive options in Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo, but none have managed to maintain a level of consistency with their performances.

The same publication claims that the club are likely to follow up with another transfer offer, given the Foxes could be tempted to accept a package of around £75m.

Bailly, in particular, has been hampered by numerous injuries while Rojo has been out of contention for a while.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has placed the focus on bolstering the club’s leaky backline this summer and Wan-Bissaka is expected to provide a significant improvement at right-back with his strong tackling and interception skills.
