Juventus full back Alex Sandro has dented Manchester United's hopes of signing him by closing in on a new contract with the Serie A giants.

The Brazilian had been a long-term target of Jose Mourinho's as well as both Manchester City and Chelsea over the past 18 months but now looks set to put pen to paper on a new deal in Turin.

According to Goal, Sandro has been offered a contract extension that will run to 2023 and will see him earn €4million per season.

Last month Sandro admitted he is 'very happy' at Juve but conceded he could be ready to leave Serie A at some point in the future.

It appears Sandro is not yet willing to push through a move to the Premier League as Juve target another Serie A title and the Champions League.

Sandro joined Juve from Porto back in 2015 and has enjoyed an impressive spell at the club so far.

He has scored nine goals and contributed a further 11 assists, winning three Serie A and three Coppa Italia titles during his time there.
