Manchester United have registered an interest in Mexican midfielder Sebastian Cordova, according to reports.

The Club America star made his debut for Mexico last week in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago and impressed by providing an assist in the 2-0 victory.

Portuguese outlet A Bola claim United had scouts in attendance at the game to watch Cordova in action.

The 22-year-old is enjoying a fine season with Club America after three goals in eleven appearances and is attracting the interest of a host of European clubs.

Should United firm up their interest in Cordova, they will face competition from Portuguese giants Benfica and La Liga side Sevilla.

United are expected to spend in January and have made a habit of signing young talent.

Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were drafted in last summer and the Red Devils are determined to continue developing young stars.

United’s most famous Mexican player to date has been Javier Hernandez, who spent five years at Old Trafford.

Hernandez is currently employed at Sevilla, which could boost the Spanish side’s chances of beating United to the signing of Cordova.
