After ending the 2019/20 Premier League season in sixth place, Manchester United are gearing up for another season in the Europa League.

Basel were also confirmed in the Europa League after a 5-2 aggregate defeat to Linz ASK, bringing back memories of Manchester United's famous 2-1 defeat in 2011.

They will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Chelsea this time around who beat Arsenal in the last season's Europa League final 4-1.

They could be reunited with the Red Devils in the groups, sparking memories of Cristiano Ronaldo's wonder goal back in the 2009 Champions League quarter-finals.

Last season United reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but were knocked out by Barcelona 4-0 on aggregate.

FC Porto are another huge club to have dropped out into the Europa League after they were humbled at home by Russian side Krasnodar.

That result knocked the Red Devils out of the Champions League at the group stages under Sir Alex Ferguson.
