The England international’s resurgence under new Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been spectacular, scoring four goals in six games under the Norwegian.

The unerring finish against Spurs took Rashford’s Premier League total to seven for the season, which has already matched his best ever return in the league.

20 players have scored more Premier League goals for United, with Nani’s 26 goals the next target to match for Rashford.

He is still some way behind his current manager Solskjaer who netted 91 times in the Premier League for the Red Devils, and Wayne Rooney who leads the way with 183 goals.

Solskjaer was full of praise for his striker in the build-up to the meeting with Tottenham, believing he can reach the levels of England captain Harry Kane.

‘He’s got frightening pace, he’s now become stronger, he can hold the ball up for us and he’s a great link player,’ said Solskjaer.

‘He can become a top, top one. We can talk about Harry Kane and his class, and I’m sure Marcus has got the potential to get up there.’
