Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes there is only one position in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first-choice XI that is still up for grabs.

United are in fine form in 2020 having not lost since January and extended their unbeaten run to 15 matches with their 3-0 win over Brighton on Tuesday night.

United's good form since the season resumed after a three-month hiatus has seen Solskjaer settle on a regular starting line-up but Neville believes the right-wing role is still there for the taking, with Mason Greenwood and Daniel James battling it out for the berth.

“I think it is the best starting 11 at this moment in time. There might be a certain decision to make in the next few games between Greenwood and James on that right-hand side, depending on which team they’re playing against," Neville told Sky Sports before kick-off.

"You talk about those lads up-front, they’ve got such great ability. They’ve got good composure in front of goal - I think Martial and Rashford have 14 league goals this season and Manchester United needed to find out if they were the real thing.

"I think the big difference, for me, is having Pogba and Fernandes in behind them. Even a half-decent forward with half-decent potential should be able to score goals with those two providing passes for them.

"The ability that they have, with obviously the ability that the front-three have now, they should really profit and get lots of chances in games and score lots of goals.”

Greenwood got the nod against Brighton and enhanced his claim for a regular starting spot with the opening goal. After that strike, Neville suggested the 19-year-old was on his way to cementing his spot in the side.

James has started 32 times in all competitions this season, while Greenwood has started 17 times.
