Ole Gunnar Solskjaer defended his players' celebrations following last night's win over Burnley amid warnings that elite sport could be cancelled should updated Covid-19 related guidelines continue to be ignored.

Chorley's players were criticised for the raucous dressing room scenes which accompanied Saturday's FA Cup win over Derby, while the crowds that congregated to welcome Marine's players to the ground ahead of their tie against Tottenham also raised concerns.



According the new guidelines, players are discouraged from making unnecessary contact at all times, while even substitutes are now required to wear face masks.



United's players were understandably overjoyed at securing three points at Turf Moor which cemented their place at the top of the table ahead of Sunday's summit meeting with Liverpool, and Solskjaer, although sympathetic will remind them of their obligations ahead of the trip to Anfield.
