Ole Gunnar Solskjaer exchanged words with Jose Mourinho after Manchester United’s win (BPI/REX)
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Jose Mourinho was less than impressed after Tottenham’s defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
United secured a well-earned 2-1 win on Wednesday evening as Marcus Rashford scored twice, while Dele Alli netted a sublime equaliser for Spurs.
Solskjaer’s side showed far more intensity than Spurs, while Mourinho was unhappy with his team’s effort levels in what was his first return to Old Trafford since he was sacked by United last December.
‘I think they deserved the victory by their first half,’ Mourinho said after the game.

‘We didn’t start well at all. For the first 30 minutes they were the best team. Because of that, for this strong 30 minutes where we were not there, and also because of the way we conceded the second goal, I think they deserved to win.’

The win has now eased pressure on Solskjaer’s position ahead of United’s Manchester derby against City on Saturday evening.
‘It’s Man City on Saturday now, two days recovery and we go again,’ said Solskjaer.
‘We’ve just got to get as many points on the board as possible and I’ve said before this game it’s a great chance to show what we can do.’
