Paul Pogba has one major problem that stops Man Utd star playing like Pirlo - Robbie Keane

That’s the claim of former Premier League striker Robbie Keane, who saw Pogba star for Manchester United as they beat Tottenham on Sunday.

Pogba set up Marcus Rashford for the only goal of the game, playing a superb lofted through-ball for the English forward.

Pogba has shone since Jose Mourinho was sacked by United, playing further up the pitch under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

That’s led to him creating more goalscoring opportunities for both himself and team-mates.

The Frenchman said after the Wembley match that he is enjoying his football under Solskjaer.

And former Spurs star Keane believes he has now found his natural position, compared to when Jose Mourinho was playing him as a guard for the back four.

“It’s clear to see that [he’s enjoying his football],” Keane said on Sky Sports. “I’m glad he said that.

“He’s better further forward. We’ve been saying that for a long time.

“I don’t think he is disciplined enough to play as a holding midfielder.

“He’s not a Pirlo. He’s not going to sit there, spread it and start the play.

“He likes to have the ball, playing in the box.

“When he’s getting at people, getting in people’s faces, when he has time to spread it higher up the pitch - not deeper - (he excels).

“We’ve seen it in his last few games up the pitch.”

Keane wasn’t the only one left praising Pogba.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville was co-commentating on the clash and was thrilled with Pogba’s role in the goal.

"It's devastating from United,” the former Red Devils captain said.

“Pogba's pass is world-class and [Jesse] Lingard is alive in transition. Solskjaer's tactics have worked an absolute treat.

"It's brilliant from Rashford but that pass from Pogba is wonderful. He's the No 1 now. He's the man.”
