Peter Schmeichel disagrees with Gary Neville's assertion that the Champions League last-16 tie between Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain is all but over.

"They were outclassed, Paris Saint-Germain were the better team and the tie now looks beyond Manchester United,” Neville told beIN SPORTS.

“There’s a three-week period now, anything can happen before the second leg and make no mistake, Manchester United will have learned a lot from today.

United were taught a lesson by Thomas Tuchel's side on Tuesday night, with goals from Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe putting the Ligue 1 leaders in pole position to make it into the quarter-finals.

Schmeichel and Neville both played in United's most famous Champions League comeback and the Great Dane doesn't understand why his former teammate already seems to be writing the team off.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side must now go to Paris in three weeks' time and score a minimum of two goals to have any chance of progression.

“I don’t know why [Neville] said that,”   Schmeichel said.
