Real Madrid have reportedly accepted that they will not sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba this summer.

Real wanted Pogba after the Frenchman admitted he wanted to leave Old Trafford.

Finally, United's summer transfer target Sean Longstaff is set to be offered a new long-term contract at Newcastle, The Times report.

There is still a possibility Pogba could leave before September 2, when the European transfer windows close, but that would leave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer without a replacement.

United were after Longstaff this summer, but cooled their interest in the central midfielder after being way off in their valuation of the player this summer.

As a result, the report says Real have now accepted they will not be able to sign Pogba this summer.

United have always insisted they have no plans to sell Pogba, and ended the English transfer window without signing any new midfielders.
