Real Madrid aren’t as keen on Manchester United star Paul Pogba as they once were, reports say. And that could give Juventus a free run at signing the France international when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign.

Real Madrid spent the summer hoping to lure Pogba away from Manchester United.

The France international had put the club on red alert after expressing a desire to pursue a new challenge elsewhere, after three inconsistent years at Old Trafford.

Real boss Zinedine Zidane is known to be a huge Pogba admirer but, despite Los Blancos’ interest, the World Cup winner ended up staying put.

He’s since barely played for United, with injury limiting him to just eight Premier League appearances this season.

And Eldesmarque claim that Real aren’t as keen on the midfielder as they once were.

Pogba spent four years at the club between 2012 and 2016, winning four straight Serie A titles along the way.

And Juventus are keen to bring him back to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin.

Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, recently admitted his client would be open to the prospect of a Serie A return.

"Italy is like a second home for him, " Raiola told Sky Sports News.

"The question was is he happy. You cannot be happy if you are not competing for the title or for the Champions League.

"The aim is for every top player to do that.

“For now he is concentrated on his recovery the next period is important for him and Man Utd to try to get into the Champions League then the European Championship and then we will see."

Meanwhile, United hero Paul Scholes has hit out at Pogba for training on his own as he continues to recover from injury.

“I don’t think it would’ve gone down very well,” he said when asked if Sir Alex Ferguson would have allowed Pogba to do that.

“Players seem to go off and do their own stuff now. When I was there, our manager wouldn’t have allowed that type of thing to happen.”
