After starting the season so poorly and with Jose Mourinho being forced to walk the proverbial plank, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer came to our rescue and, during his interim period, reignited the dream that a top-four finish, with Champions League football being on the agenda next season, was attainable.

The 2018 / 2019 season will go down in the record books as one of the campaigns in which Manchester United didn’t win a trophy to add to their extensive collection.

The next three fixtures could determine our fate with Manchester United set to visit Everton this Sunday followed by two titanic battles, a home game against Manchester City followed by a visit from one of our rivals for that top-four place, Chelsea.

However, with just 5 games left to play, that top-four finish is in the balance.

If a top-four finish is to be the prize this season, Manchester United cannot afford to slip up, the club must be looking to take a maximum 15 points from those 5 games available.

After the success Solksjaer achieved in his interim position, the clubs’ supporters will be hoping the Norwegian can keep our Champions League hopes alive, in those coming three games.

It’s going to be a difficult and tense period, but let’s keep those fingers crossed.
