Ahead of what many are perceiving as Ole Gunnar Solskjær's first big test as Manchester United manager, when the Norwegian takes his side to Wembley to face Tottenham, there may be concerns over what happened the last time the two sides met.

In August, Mauricio Pochettino's side beat United at Old Trafford 3-0, which essentially served as a preview for what would follow for both sides.

Since then, Spurs have won 14 league matches and find themselves in third place, compared to United who have won 10 since, with four of those coming under Solskjær's leadership.

So how can Solskjær ensure that history doesn't repeat itself?

In the 4-3-3, Matic is often the central midfield figure, whereas in the 4-2-3-1, Matic plays on the left of a midfield two.

For virtually the entire first half, United were the aggressors and had the better chances by some distance.

At Old Trafford, Eriksen was initially deployed at the tip of a midfield diamond, but struggled to influence the play largely due to being flustered by Nemanja Matic.
