Manchester United's Victor Lindelof is confident of making a swift recovery from the injury that kept him out of Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United.

And speaking to media in his homeland, Lindelof gave an optimistic prognosis on his injury recovery.

"I get good treatment here [at United] and good help with the national team."

The Swede, who had previously been an ever-present for United in the Premier League this season, missed the clash with a back injury sustained in the previous game — the 0-0 draw with AZ Alkmaar.

His absence meant United were missing six first-team stars for the St James' Park encounter — with Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Anthony Martial sidelined — with detrimental consequences as Matty Longstaff netted the hosts' winner.

Lindelof was seen limping as United's players exited the stadium and boarded the team bus, though he has linked up with Sweden's national team for their upcoming games against Malta and Spain in Euro 2020 qualifying.

Lindelof says he is coping with the injury and wants to feature for his country in the next week.
