Odion Ighalo continued his impressive form since joining Manchester United tonight by scoring an excellent goal against LASK Linz.
The Nigerian striker’s arrival at Old Trafford on transfer deadline day definitely raised more than a few eyebrows across the country but the 30-year-old former Watford striker seems to be making the absolute most of his loan deal until the end of the season.
Ighalo scored his first goal for the Red Devils in the 5-0 victory over Club Brugge in the last-32 of the Europa League and, as a result, was given the nod to start tonight’s last-16 first-leg tie in Austria, which was played in front of just 500 fans due to the Coronavirus.
Ighalo also scored twice against Derby County in the FA Cup earlier this month, and he had his fourth goal for the Premier League giants less than half-an-hour into this evening’s clash – and what a fabulous finish it was:
To be quite honest, we’re a little surprised by the positive impact Ighalo has had, given he was struggling for a starting berth whilst playing in the Chinese Super League.
But could he end up being a long-term option for Solskjaer and United?
